Nattokinase

$44.99

Nattokinase is an enzyme extracted from natto, a traditional Japanese food made from fermented soybeans. This enzyme, produced by the bacteria Bacillus subtilis natto during fermentation, belongs to the serine protease family, meaning it helps break down proteins in the body, especially those involved in forming blood clots.

While natto, a whole food, is rich in vitamin K (which supports clotting), nattokinase, an isolated enzyme, does not contain vitamin K and is known for its potent fibrinolytic activity—properties that may help the body dissolve blood clots. For optimal absorption, it should be taken on an empty stomach.

Nattokinase has been shown in scientific studies to:

Nattokinase is generally safe, but its blood-thinning effects mean certain people should use caution. It should be avoided by those taking anticoagulant, antiplatelet, or fibrinolytic drugs (such as warfarin, aspirin, or heparin), as well as anyone with bleeding disorders, a history of hemorrhagic stroke, upcoming surgery, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or soybean allergies.

The human body is like a finely tuned Swiss watch, with each gear (organ system) affecting all the others. For more information or to get tested, contact a Wellness Way clinic. We’ll help you understand how your body is currently functioning and the best ways to support it!
